Letter Sea Light dispute let "network Heritage" topic again fall into the public eye. The husband died in a car accident, his QQ mailbox saved a large number of two people from love to marriage during the letter, photos. Wife Wang want to stay as a souvenir, but also want to keep the QQ number. But Ms. Wang did not know QQ password, to the Tencent company for help. But Tencent's reply is that, according to the agreement with the user, QQ number ownership owned by Tencent. The user only has the right to use the number, and if the user is found to be unused for a long time, the account will be withdrawn. As the existing "Property law", "Inheritance Law" and other relevant laws do not have the QQ number can be inherited to make a clear explanation, and Tencent Company and user engagement, Ms. Wang can not inherit her husband's QQ number is basically no suspense. But the incident once again raises a rather edgy question: since the internet, the earth has a lot of valuable intangible things, they can not touch the digital form scattered around the world's hard disk and server, including mailbox accounts, blog accounts, game accounts, network albums, documents, letters, videos and so on. When all men are alive, they belong to all, and once all are gone, these web legacies are most likely to be annihilated. This is also a universal problem: China has instant messaging users 390 million, blog users 310 million, social networking site users 230 million, Twitter users 190 million. How do you protect them? If the Internet heritage is allowed to inherit, it will push up the cost of operators and also impact the current law. The legality of network heritage is inseparable with the legality of fictitious property, which must be recognized by the former, but so far, virtual property has not been universally included in the legal protection. If the law recognizes virtual property, this also means that the recognition of the value of the digital equipment or virtual currency issued by the company, it also means that the online companies have the right to print money, the consequences of how difficult to predict. However, the network heritage in addition to the property value, there are double can not be ignored value, one is the emotional value, as mentioned in the previous Netizen and Tencent's dispute. The second is cultural value. Every internet heritage has an emotional value, and all the Internet heritage is a collection of great cultural values for the entire human race, which UNESCO calls the "digital legacy." With the gradual popularization of the Internet, the value of digital heritage has become one of the three legacies of mankind, which is separate with the world material and cultural heritage and the intangible Heritage of the world. Because of the rapid upgrading of hardware and software, the uncertainty of resources, liability and protection methods, and the legal gaps that allow inheritance, digital heritage is most easily lost in the three major human legacies. If the inheritance of Internet heritage can be confirmed, it will undoubtedly be very helpful to the protection of digital heritage. Although the current law does not support the inheritance of Internet heritage, operators should not ignore the human values contained in these legacies, nor should they be cold-blooded to the implied emotional value. With the advent of the Web2.0 era, there will be more and more questions about the inheritance of Internet heritage. OrXu, a little investment in some human and material resources to the humane way of handling, to assist the parties to inherit these network heritage, will bring more reputation and customer loyalty to the company. From this perspective, Twitter and Facebook practices abroad are worth drawing on, and the two sites have announced a policy on how users will handle their accounts after they die. It provides that a relative may choose to delete or archive an account after providing evidence that the account holder has passed away and that they have the right to dispose of the funeral.
