Yelp has a wide range of users around the world who use it to tap local life content, such as restaurants and bars, to consume and leave feedback-if there is dissatisfaction, they will share it with others by commenting: "This is a XXX problem, man. ”
Now, another group of special people are looking at these comments. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the New York City Health Bureau and the Department of Mental Health had completed a pilot project to scan and analyze Yelp's comments over the past 9 months (currently over 294,000), with the help of the Columbia software, to track the poisoning outbreaks.
The core of the scan is a series of keywords, such as: "Vomiting", "nausea", "diarrhea" and so on. At present, the project has successfully found 3 cases of group food poisoning-involving 16 people, 3 restaurants, but still did not disclose the name of the restaurant involved. Government officials have also investigated a restaurant where rats and cockroaches are raging. Municipal officials said the project would continue, and the frequency of scanning and analysis of comments from the previous weekly upgrade to the current daily.
China also has similar services, such as the United States, the public comments and so on, but also in keyword search and analysis has a solid foundation. If domestic consumers can enjoy such services, it is also a blessing.
