Beijing Time August 6 news, according to foreign media reports, the beleaguered social game developers Zynga, began to implement a new round of restructuring. On August 5, Zynga announced that it would shut down its Omgpop portal omgpop.com, its gaming development studio, by the end of September, with four games to stop serving.

Omgpop Game Studio, famous in the popular game "You draw I guess" (drawsomething). Zynga bought it 200 million dollars early last year, but Zynga did not make the studio a second spring. Zynga announced in June that it would close the game studio, although its official website remains.

According to the latest announcement, Omgpop's official website will be completely closed on September 30, the corresponding game service will be affected, including four games: "Cupcake-corner", "Gem-rush", "Pool-world-champ" and "snoops".

However, for the classic game "You draw Me guess", Zynga will remain, including follow-on product "Drawmything". In the future, Zynga will migrate the game to its parent's official web site, while providing services to mobile devices.

With its dismal performance, Zynga has done many layoffs and restructurings, and Omgpop is only one of the closed studios.

According to media analysts, Zynga's strategy now is to stop the trend of brand diversification, refocus on the "Zynga" brand and launch competitive mobile games. In addition, Zynga has invited Microsoft's Xbox business Chief, Mattrick, as CEO, to command Zynga to revive.

It's worth mentioning that Zynga's acquisition of Omgpop was a huge user of the other's "You Draw me guess", but after the deal was completed, the number of users of this popular game unexpectedly dropped. Later, Zynga also launched the "You draw I guess 2", but the new game did not arouse the interest of old players.

In addition, after the takeover, Zynga and Omgpop, the parent company, had problems with the integration, and the relationship was strained, leading Omgpop chief executive Dan-porter to leave.

The tech media point out that Zynga's restructuring is only beginning, with its current redundancy and inefficiency, and the need for substantial layoffs and downsizing in the future to gain a foothold in mobile gaming and social gaming.
