Welcome to the Android App development tour!
In this section we will learn how to build our first Android app. We'll learn how to create an Android project and run a debug version of the application. In addition, we will learn the basics of some Android application design, including how to create a simple user interface and handle user input.
Before starting this chapter, we want to make sure that the development environment is installed. We need to:
1 Download Android Studio.
2 Download the latest SDK tools and platforms using SDK Manager (you can set g.cn:80 as the SDK agent for the FQ Update SDK).
Note: While most of the sections in this series of training courses expect you to use Android Studio for development, some of the development operations can be done through the commands provided in SDK tools.
This chapter uses a wizard to step through the process of creating a small Android app that teaches us some basic concepts of Android development, so it's important that you follow the tutorial steps to learn the operation.
