I finally found a solution to the problem of no sound in XUbuntu8.04. Today I searched foreign websites and found similar posts on Ubuntu forums outside China. I have roughly seen two phenomena: one is that the esd is not running, the other is that the esd is running, but the setting is incorrect. I compared it and found that I belong to the latter. Finally solved the problem of no sound in XUbuntu8.04.
Today, I searched foreign websites and found similar posts on Ubuntu forums outside China. I have roughly seen two phenomena: one is that the esd is not running, the other is that the esd is running, but the setting is incorrect. I compared it and found that I belong to the latter.
The command to check whether the esd is running is:
$ Ps aux | grep esd
Now that the problem is located, the rest is the hands-on process.
$ Alsamixer # Run alsamixer to modify audio output settings
The first time I run the job, I roughly understood what was going on. In the past, the master was not open and the status was off. Unfortunately, I don't know how to change it. Then exit and check the man manual. Find the switch key for on and off is m. Run again, select master, and press m. Haha, the sound is coming soon.
