X-ua-compatible is a proprietary <meta> attribute of IE8, which tells IE8 which version of IE to use to render Web pages in the HTML
2, why use x-ua-compatible?
When IE8 just launched, many web pages due to the problem of refactoring, unable to adapt to the higher level of the browser, so use the x-ua-compatible tag force IE8 to be rendered in a low-version manner.
Using this code, developers do not have to consider whether the Web page is compatible with IE8 browser, as long as the Web page in IE6, IE7 performance.
EmulateIE7 mode notifies Windows Internet Explorer to use <! The doctype> directive determines how the content is rendered. Standard mode directives are displayed in Windows Internet Explorer 7 Standard mode, while Quirks mode directives are displayed in IE5 mode. Unlike IE7 mode, EmulateIE7 mode follows <! doctype> instructions. For most Web sites, it is the preferred compatibility mode.
In general, the x-ua-compatible tag is set as follows, Ie=edge tells IE to use the latest Engine rendering Web page, chrome=1 can activate the chrome Frame
Declare the current page to be rendered with the chrome kernel:
< meta HTTP-EQUIV = "x-ua-compatible" content = "chrome=1" >
If the GCF is installed, the page is rendered using GCF, and if the GCF is installed, the highest version of the IE kernel is used for rendering, and Google makes a plug-in: Google Chrome frame (google embedded browser framework GCF). This plugin can keep the user's IE browser intact, but when users are browsing the web, they are actually using the Google Chrome kernel, and support IE6, 7, 8 and many other versions of IE browser.
< meta HTTP-EQUIV = "x-ua-compatible" content = "ie=edge,chrome=1"/>
<meta http-equiv= "x-ua-compatible" content= "Ie=edge" >
