An individual's opinion of the current public's prejudice against Perl

recently, I have been studying in some forums and communities to find out that many people have a lot of bias towards Perl.

I've studied Perl for so long, and it's a little bit of experience, so I've summed up the reason why everyone is biased against Perl, and there are two reasons for the following two:

1. Perl is quite flexible and free, and there are a lot of symbols that could lead to confusing code, resulting in poor readability.

2, different programmers write code style difference is very large, resulting in late maintenance difficulties.

most people are because of the first reason, I also wrote Python before I was studying Perl, and before that I was influenced by others, a certain prejudice to the language of Perl,

think this is an outdated language, when I took this mentality to learn Perl, It's true that Perl is not as good as python in many ways.

But now that Perl is close to 1.5, Perl brings me some of the feelings that Python can't give me, such as regular expressions, object-oriented, and so on.

And a lot of people because the first reason that Perl readability is poor, the reason is still not learned enough, not enough to see. For example, many people see the Perl code written by others, the first glance did not read it,

But if you can read it carefully, you'll find that Perl is written in a variety of ways, so you can get a lot of experience.

To summarize, for the time being, Perl is no more backward than Python, they all have their pros and cons, but Perl has more convenience than other scripts in text processing, regular expressions, and system management.
