The official Go Language blog published a 2016-year go language usage survey.
Of the 3,595 respondents, 89% said they used go programming outside their jobs or work, and 63% said their job was web development, but only 9% per cent were engaged in web development, and more than half of the respondents involved more than three areas; 63% of people use go to develop command-line programs, 60% write API or RPC service, 52% write Web service.
Respondents ' satisfaction with Go is very high (apparently highly correlated with the respondents), they are primarily developed on Linux, followed by MacOS, and the third is Windows; The favorite editor is Vim, followed by Vscode, Atom, IntelliJ, Sublime Text and Emacs.
Most people find answers to Go-related questions primarily through Stack Overflow, followed by official website golang.org; The vast majority of respondents came from the United States, followed by Germany, the UK, Russia, France, Canada, India and China, with access to golang.org Geographic data are basically consistent but different, with India, China and Japan accounting for about 5% per cent of their visits, but only 3%, 2% and 1% per cent of respondents were in the country.
