A long time ago, when installing Apache, did not think of a future day will be used to SSL, so also did not install that module, the results today need to use the time, but do not have.
Because the mod_ssl.so file was not installed when Apache was installed, it was decided to install the file. There are two main ways to install it: Recompile the installation and load the installation module.
Installation Method 1: Simple, is to recompile Apache directly, and then add –enable-ssl, this method is not much to say, here the main introduction method 2.
Installation Method 2: Dynamic installation. Apache has a mechanism like PHP that dynamically loads modules, first using the online introduction of more methods to install:
Note: The following [Apache] represents the Apache installation directory, [source] represents the Apache source directory.
1. Enter [Source]/modules/ssl
2. Execution [apache]/bin/apxs-a-i-c mod_ssl.c
The system will then prompt the installation to succeed, but when you start httpd you will be prompted:
Httpd:syntax error on line 146 of [Apache]/conf/httpd.conf:cannot load modules/mod_ssl.so into server: [apache]/modules/ mod_ssl.so:undefined Symbol:ssl_cmd_sslpassphrasedialog
So the internet looked for a long time of information, the results are not satisfactory. Finally, the installation mod_ssl.so need to specify information about OpenSSL.
Here's the right approach:
1. Enter [Source]/modules/ssl
2. Execution [apache]/bin/apxs-a-i-c-l/usr/lib/openssl/engines/lib-c *.C-LCRYPTO-LSSL-LDL
Restart the httpd.
Summary: Obviously the second method is troublesome, so I solemnly recommend using the first method: Recompile Apache, plus the –ENABLE-SSL option.
Apache installation mod_ssl.so appears undefined Symbol:ssl_cmd_sslpassphrasedialog error resolved
