Apache Open Source Project--jackrabbit

Apache Jackrabbit is an open source implementation of JSR-170 provided by Apache Foundation.

With the growing popularity of content management applications, the need for a common, standardized API for content warehouses has been highlighted. The goal of the Content Repository for Java technology API (JSR-170) is to provide such an interface. A major advantage of JSR-170 is that it does not bind to any particular underlying architecture. For example, the backend data store implemented by JSR-170 can be a file system, a WebDAV repository, an XML-enabled system, or even a SQL database. In addition, JSR-170 's export and import capabilities allow a single generator to seamlessly switch between the content backend and the JCR implementation.
