The jury agreed that the network POS agent, Samsung violated Apple's five lawsuits in three patents, should compensate Apple $119.6 million, but the amount is much lower than Apple's $2.2 billion compensation request, leading to Apple's dissatisfaction with the case trial.
Florian Mueller, a patent expert at FOSS patents, says that even if Apple wins the ban, Samsung is likely to quickly use the alternative to defuse the crisis by bypassing Apple's alleged patent charges. Mueller also said that Samsung had filed a secret motion with the court in Friday, Mueller that Samsung was seeking partial or total reversal of the jury's previous rulings.
