I used the HTML5 theme in WordPress, unable to display audio, but could not find the appropriate audio playback plug-in (WordPress plugin Center found some of the HTML5 audio playback plugin useless).
Several searches found this: http://kolber.github.io/audiojs/but I will not install, do not know whether it will be useful.
It uses native
where available and an invisible Flash player to emulate for other
browsers. IT provides a consistent HTML player UI to all browsers which can is styled used standard CSS.

It will not install after download
Installation
Put in the audio.js, player-graphics.gif & audiojs.swf
same folder.
Include the Audio.js file:
<script src="/audiojs/audio.min.js">Initialise audio.js:
Then you can use the wherever in your HTML:
