Brief Introduction to Windows XP + Fedora8 dual system installation

After all, it is our own lab and exploration site. In order to take into account some potential applications in the future, we need to build a dual system-WindowsXP + Fedora81.WindowsXP installation partition to 20 GB or so. The installation process is not required to be discussed; after the installation is complete, create two NTFS logical partitions for file storage (Fedora supports NTFS format), so that my high-definition movies will be placed somewhere, the remaining 30 GB space is allocated to Fedora8; 2. boot with Fedora8 and choose to install the new system

1. the Windows XP installation partition is about 20 GB, so you don't need to talk about the installation process. After the installation, create two NTFS logical partitions for file storage (Fedora supports NTFS format ), in this way, there will be another place for my HD movies. The remaining 30 GB space will be allocated to Fedora8;

2. boot with Fedora8 and choose to install the new system;

3. Select Simplified Chinese as the language;

4. Select to automatically partition Linux partitions in the remaining disk space;

5. install components by default. It seems that the installation is the simplest by default, and the desired components will not be installed later;

6. set the password and user password. This time I can't be careless. I have to get a password that counts the 4-core CPU for several years. The password rule is for a long time, finally, I found that the password rules of the on-board agents were good. Hey hey, that's it;

6. Install the CD-Rom for continuous check. After the CD-Rom is installed, the CD-Rom will pop up automatically, and then manually push the CD-Rom forward. NEXT, start the formal installation;

7. After the installation is complete, add a user. I will skip this step and use it all by myself. Generally, the Root permission is required, and multiple user accounts have multiple risks;

8. When the system is connected to the Internet, Fedora will automatically check for updates, agree to the updates, and start downloading. This is really big. After the download is complete, install and restart;

9. check the service. The WEB Service is already installed in Fedora by default. apache and tomcat are both installed properly. In the program component list, select install MySQL5. The system will automatically download and install it, during the process, disk installation is required;

Windows XP + Fedora installation is basically complete.
