Build and install ubuntulinux by yourself

I advocate streamlining, so DoItYourself! Next, let's start my Linux custom installation journey. Objective: To install a minimal system that meets your needs. Everything is aimed at performance and streamlining. The desktop environment is xdm + fvwm-crystal. 1. Download The kUbuntu-7.04-alternative-i386, dial, start, select installacommand-linesystem, and install the minimum system for a command line. 2. 1. Download The kUbuntu-7.04-alternative-i386, dial, start, select install a command-line system to install the minimum system of a command line.

2. Modify/etc/apt/source. list and add the fastest source. I have prepared a source list in advance.

3. Update the source list and the system.
Sudo aptitude update
Sudo aptitude upgrade
Sudo aptitude dist-upgrade

4. Install Xserver, terminal simulator xterm, window starter kdm and table manager fvwm-crystal.
Sudo aptitude install xserver-xorg-core
Sudo aptitude install kdm
Sudo aptitude install xterm
Sudo aptitude install fvwm-crystal

I originally wanted to install xdm, but I accidentally mistake rs into kdm! Later we found that the background image of kdm is a big debian icon, very beautiful!

5. Install the Chinese Language Support Package
Sudo aptitude install language-pack-zh-core language-pack-zh

Good guy, I have installed a lot of things on it. What surprised me is that the open office suite has been installed, and there are also scim input methods-including Pinyin and five. Fortunately, these are all what I need. If something I don't want is installed, I will get rid of them anyway!

OK. The installation of a minimum system containing Windows desktop is complete! I love it!
