Long time no MySQL, today suddenly want to do exercises, to open MySQL, the system hints wrong:
Can ' t connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock '.
Check the next/etc/my.cnf (the general situation is under this record), inside the content is as follows:
1 [mysqld] 2 datadir=/var/lib/mysql 3 Socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock 4 user=mysql 5 # disabling Symbolic-links is re Commended to prevent assorted security risks 6 Symbolic-links=0 7 8 [Mysqld_safe] 9 Log-error=/var/log/mysqld.log 10 Pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid [Mysql.server] user=mysql basedir=/usr/local/mysql [client] + SOC Ket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
Seems to be right, so to find the problem, found that the original MySQL did not open (open MySQL requires root restrictions).
Use the command service mysqld start to open. This will allow you to log in with Mysql-u root-p.
