Canonical began selling its Ubuntu smartphone in Europe last month, and the mid-range smartphone was also presented at the MWC 2015 Conference at the beginning of the month. The Canonical Ubuntu smartphone uses a gesture-based user interface-Scope, which contains HTML 5 to build content cards and supports customization. This design saves users time to start different applications to obtain information.

After unlocking the Canonical Ubuntu smartphone, the first screen displayed is the Scope card showing the date, including today's weather and any upcoming events in the calendar, there are additional themes around date cards, such as nearby restaurant information cards. These additional theme cards can also be customized by the customer.

You can also specify the card sorting rules through the topic list, such as "I am bored" or "I am tired, then the Canonical Ubuntu smartphone will automatically display nearby shopping places, spas, and games and music that can help users relax in the cards.

Currently, the Ubuntu mobile platform does not have many applications, totaling about 1000. Therefore, creating a user interface to intelligently provide applications can work effectively. Canonical said that its own developer community began to transplant applications, such as successfully porting the Android version Evernote to the Canonical Ubuntu smartphone. Canonical says it asked five volunteers in its community to develop or transplant applications, and 100 volunteered to answer the phone.
