For example, # cat a.txt, while vi is a file editor

Try: # cat> a.txt and enter the following content
Hello solary! Ctrl + D


# Cat a.txt: Check the content:

# Cat-n textfile1> textfile2: add the row number to the file content of textfile1 and overwrite the file content of textfile2.
# Cat-B textfile1 textfile2> textfile3 adds the content of textfile1 and textfile2 to the row number (blank rows are not added) and adds the content to textfile3.

Note: The cat command is used to view the file content, while the directory cannot be viewed using cat. The ls command is used to view the directory.

For example:
# Cat/etc/passwd
# Ls/etc
