The EXFAT and NTFS file systems are not supported by the CentOS system under the default conditions. Sometimes it is cumbersome to copy files between CentOS and Windows systems with a USB flash drive, and you can mount exFAT and NTFS file system USB drives by installing the software on the CentOS system.
exFAT file system mount on the CentOS system:
The basic tools required for CentOS: Gcc,python
The first step: download Fuse-exfat related software and install
Identification of the exFAT file system via fuse related software support, download the relevant package address:http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/updates/6/SRPMS/repoview/ index.html , respectively download:fuse-exfat-1.0.1-2.el6.rpm and exfat-utils-1.0.1-2.el6.rpm. Then see if the scons and fuse-devel packages are installed in CentOS,
Query method:
# rpm-q--list scons fuse-devel
If it is not installed, it can be installed through the Yum Source command:
Yum Install Yuminstall fuse-devel
Where scons requires Python support, if Yum cannot install scons, you need to manually download the SCons installation package:http://www.scons.org/download.php Download: scons-2.4.1-1.noarch.rpm , Installation:
# RPM-IVH scons-2.4. 1-1. noarch.rpm
Then, install fuse-exfat-1.0.1-2.el6.rpm and exfat-utils-1.0.1-2.el6.rpm, command:
# RPM-IVH fuse-exfat-1.0. 1-2. el6.rpm exfat-utils-1.0. 1-2. el6.rpm
After installation, and then ~ directory has rpmbuild directory , at this time requires CentOS has Rpm-build package , no installation:
Yum Install Rpm-build
Then switch to the specs directory:
# CD ~/rpmbuild/-ba fuse--ba exfat-utils.spec
Once the build is complete, you can find the generated RPM files in the ~/rpmbuild/rpms (depending on the system architecture, in the x86_64 or i386 directory, where the package with the Debuginfo in the name does not have to be installed):
# CD ~/rpmbuild/rpms/i686# rpm-ivh fuse-exfat-1.0.1-2.el6.i686.rpm exfat-utils-1.0.1-2.el6.i686.rpm
So the installation is complete.
Step Two: Mount
The following command mounts the exFAT USB flash drive:
Mount. Exfat/dev/sdxn/media
SDXN: Can be sdb4,sdb3, etc., according to the device name of the U disk.
Mount the NTFS file system on the CentOS system:
First step: Download and install the relevant software:
Download Rpmforge CentOS version, address:http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/ rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.i686.rpm for example.
Step Two: Install Rpmforge, command:
# RPM-IVH rpmforge-release-0.5. 3-1. el6.rf.i686.rpm
Step three: Install and install ntfs-3g
Install via yum, command:
Yum Install fuse-ntfs-3g
With the above three steps, the CentOS system can recognize the NTFS partition of the removable hard disk.
