Once you have set up a password file for the MySQL instance manager and im running, you can connect to it. You can use the MySQL client tool to connect through the standard MySQL API. The following is a list and example of commands that the MySQL instance manager can now receive.
·START INSTANCE <instance_name>
This command will attempt to start an instance:
mysql> START INSTANCE mysqld4;
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0,00 sec)
·STOP INSTANCE <instance_name>
An attempt will be made to stop an instance:
mysql> STOP INSTANCE mysqld4;
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0,00 sec)
·SHOW INSTANCES
Show all loaded instance names:
mysql> show instances;

| mysqld3 | offline |
| mysqld4 | online |

·SHOW INSTANCE STATUS <instance_name>
Displays the status and version information for the selected instance:
mysql> SHOW INSTANCE STATUS mysqld3;
