Compile and install CompizFusion0.6.0 in Ubuntu7.10Gutsy

CompizFusion0.6.0 has been released for a long time, but CompizFusion in the Ubuntu7.10Gutsy source is still not updated. In addition to the core, Compiz is 0.6.0, Gutsy's CompizFusion version is 0.5.2, and there are no new cool plug-ins in the 7.04 source. Instead of waiting for Ubuntu to officially add it to the source code, it is better to compile the source code by yourself. So, I deleted the Com from the Gutsy source.

Compiz Fusion 0.6.0 has been released for a long time, but Compiz Fusion in the Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy source is not updated yet.

In addition to the core, Compiz is 0.6.0, Gutsy's Compiz Fusion version is 0.5.2, and there are no new cool plug-ins in the 7.04 source.

Instead of waiting for Ubuntu to officially add it to the source code, it is better to compile the source code by yourself.

So I deleted Compiz Fusion from the Gutsy source and began to compile the new Compiz Fusion myself!

After more than half an hour of hard work, I was very happy to see that my Compiz Fusion 0.6 compilation not only started faster than what Gutsy came with, but also ran stably, all plug-ins.

If you want to delete Compiz Fusion of Gutsy and compile the latest Compiz Fusion, try it with confidence! Everything is reversible.

1. Delete Compiz Fusion of Gutsy

Open the terminal and run the following command to delete Compiz Fusion:

Sudo apt-get remove compiz *

After execution, a long string of software packages to be deleted will be listed. Do not be soft. Press "y!

Ii. Download source code

Enter this address in your browser: http://releases.compiz-fusion.org/0.6.0/

Download all the source code packages. Do not download them repeatedly. Just download any type of bz2 or gz suffix.

What kind of compressed package to download is my personal preference. bz2 has a high compression ratio, which can reduce the download time.
