Mysql enable remote access permission using the root user to log on to mysql

1. Execute the following command in the mysql command line: [plain] # mysql> grant all privilegeson *. * TO 'root' @ '%' with grant option; 2. restart the mysqld service: [plain] # service mysqld restart 3. configure the firewall TO allow Mysql port 3306 TO receive remote access: [plain] # iptables-I INPUT-p tcp -- dport 3306-j ACCEPT 4. Edit the/etc/sysconfig/iptables file and add the following rules in the INPUT chain: [plain] # iptables-a input-p tcp -- dport 3306-jACCEPT
