Data security start-ups Guardtime announced the collaboration with the Estonian e-Health Foundation (Estonia EHealth Foundation) to secure 1 million patient medical records using blockchain technology.
The fund consolidates Guardtime's key-signing infrastructure's blockchain technology (KSI, keyless signature infrastructure) and the foundation Oracle Data Engine to enable real-time viewing of patient cases.
The e-government system set up in Estonia in 1997 has aroused people's concern. The way to do this is to embed the chip in the ID card, then national citizens can use more than 100 e-government services, such as tax returns, voting. The entire service process is instantaneous and only requires logging in to a website.
The e-government system in Estonia contains electronic patient records. The goal of integrating Guardtime technology is to protect these data with "independent forensic quality audit trails". The company says the technology makes tampering with data impossible. Guardtime Company representative told reporters: because of hackers, malicious software, system problems, such as the existence of sensitive data protection in the presence of security risks include information tampering, deletion, error escalation. Blockchain technology can ensure the real integrity of the data, and can fully record the data change process. Director of E-Health Foundation Margus AUV?? RT says Guardtime's technology can protect health files in real time. "It allows us to respond to any incident in time before mass destruction occurs."
Blockchain technology changes
Estonia announces the launch of the blockchain-based health file Security Project Guardtime was established in 2011 when it claimed to provide "no key signature" to protect data validity. Members of the company were said to have contributed to the Estonian Government's digital signature Act and ID card in 1990.
Guardtime has long been involved in the field of cryptography, claiming that the company's ksi blockchain was already in operation before bitcoin appeared in April 2008.
"Bitcoin's creativity is based on existing technologies and has many similarities to our blockchain," a company spokesman said. I can say that Bitcoin is a ledger and blockchain; Super ledgers and Ripple (Ripple) are ledger without blockchain; Ksi is a blockchain without a ledger. Guardtime systems classify and sign data, and their technology is similar to blockchain startups Factom. Whenever a document changes, a new signature is automatically generated and stored on the corporate blockchain. "So the data is not stored, it's a series of hashes of real-world document updates," he says.
"The company system provides real-time alerts by signing key digital assets that protect the digital infrastructure. For example, sign application components, log files, firmware, and alert hackers or malicious software attacks. This allows any organization to identify and handle network vulnerabilities in real time. "Unlike Bitcoin, which relies on asymmetric key encryption, KSI is only encrypted with a hash function.
