Add source first:
$ Gksu gedit/etc/apt/sources. list
Add a line at the bottom of the original source:
Deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-experimental/ubuntu intrepid main
Save and then apply for a key:
$ Gpg -- keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com -- recv-keys 493B3065 & gpg -- export-a 493B3065 | sudo apt-key add-
Then update the source database:
$ Sudo apt-get update
Install KDE 4.2:
$ Sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
About MB of data to be downloaded. After the installation package is downloaded, The Akonadi used by KDE4.2 needs to use the MySQL database. Therefore, the prompt for setting the password of the root user for MySQL is displayed, enter the password on both sides. Next, you will be prompted to select the default session based on your preferences. After the installation is complete, log out of the session and select KDE as the session and then log on to the KDE 4.2 desktop. The KDE Language is set to simplified Chinese in the Language in System Setting.
