Article Title: failed to mount partitions-fixed the fatab file. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.
After the partition is deleted, you cannot remember to modify the fstab or the fstab is damaged, which will lead to a failure to enter the system. The prompt is as follows:
Fsck. ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open/dev/hda *
* ** An error occurred during the file system check.
* ** Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot
*** When you leave the shell.
Give root password for maintenance
(Or type Control-D to continue ):
Enter the Administrator's password to enter the maintenance mode. However, when you modify the fstab, you find that the fstab is read-only. We need to reinstall the mount and add the r and w permissions.
# Mount-o remount r, w/
After mounting, you can modify/etc/fstab, delete the row corresponding to the/dev/hda * partition that cannot be loaded, comment with #, save and exit, the system can be restarted!
After using the fdisk partition, you should add the new partition information to fstab before restarting. For example, if two partitions are created, they are hda5 hda6.
If hda5 needs to be mounted to the disk partition, hda6 needs to mount to the disk2 partition,
After creating the disk and disk2 folders, add the following two lines at the end of/etc/fstab:
/Dev/hda5/disk ext3 defaults 1 2
/Dev/hda6/disk2 ext3 defaults 1 2
If you cannot enter the system, use fdisk (t) to change the disk system ID. the linux partition is 83 by default. Save and format the new partition, mkfs. ext3/dev/hda *, reboot after completion. Normally, the system can be smoothly accessed.
Now we can automatically mount the two new partitions after the restart .!
