Today, I finally started the desktop Effect of Fedora8, and I did not accept comments from netizens. It looks like vista, but it is not much smaller. The procedure is as follows:
First of all, the yum Update Configuration, see the yum update settings; see the http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2008-02/11068.htm and then choose the Driver Installation based on your graphics card; graphics card driver installed successfully, run the boot desktop effect, save the settings.
My graphics card is NVIDIA (Geforce5200), input nvidia in the search box to add and delete programs, there will be a lot of driver components, choose Kmod-nvidia-PAE-169.07-2.lvn8.i686, Kmod-nvidia-2.6.23.14-107.fc8PAE-169.07.2.lvn8i686,
Xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-169.07-4.lvn8.i386, click application, the system will check the update installation. After the installation is successful, you can start compiz-fusion that comes with Fedora8.
You can also use the yum update component, yum install compizconfig-settings-mannger emerald; yum install compiz-fusion icon. unfortunately, although the components can be installed, the 3D effects of the desktop have not increased much. In addition, the themes under emerald have not been installed successfully and I am still learning.
Note: I am a newbie to Linux systems. If this is inappropriate, please criticize and correct me.
