Fedora8 has been released for a long time, but I only know today that some components such as the Fedora8 topic and YUM have been updated. I upgraded it directly from my Fedora7, the theme is similar to some elements of Ubuntu and Vista, but it is refreshing and there is still no major improvement in Chinese font, speaking of fonts, I still like the system fonts of MacOSX and Windows Vista. I don't know how to solve this problem in Linux.

The Login startup screen of RedHat Fedora Linux 8 is more and more like Windows and Mac OSX. The system desktop is also better than before.
I ran this on my old computer. The configuration is Intel celon D 2.4 Ghz, memory is 1 GB, motherboard is Intel I845GL, onboard sound card, the graphics card is a nVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 128 M, 80 GB 7200/s hard drive, and runs fast. That is, the video card is quite depressing. Ubuntu Linux 7.10, SUSE Linux 10, and other new versions of Linux do not support my video card. The installation process is text, but RedHat Fedora supports it, however, XGL cannot be enabled, so you still need to install the driver. If you install the driver, you do not need to download the driver from the nVIDIA website, because the installation is too troublesome and you need to compile the kernel.
The simple installation method is still through YUM.
1. Open the terminal window and enter su to switch to the root permission.
2. Input rpm-ivh http://livna-dl.reloumirrors.net/fedora/8/i386/livna-release-8-1.noarch.rpm
3. Enter yum-y install kmod-nvidia glx-utils.
4. Restart.
If you want to install the nVIDIA graphics card driver in Fedora 7, change step 2:
Rpm-ivh http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/7/i386/livna-release-7-2.noarch.rpm
It seems that YUM has made the upgrade and change, and there is always an Error prompt, and the driver cannot be installed. If you encounter this problem, please use
Run the yum upgrade-y command to update the system.
