A few days ago, I finally found the Fedora8 installation disk. After a long time, I finally got well. At first, I couldn't read the disk. I tested it twice and passed the test, but it was not available during the installation. Later I borrowed an External Optical Drive, so it was easy to get it ready. Search for and add several rpm images on the Internet (Command Format: rpm-ivh [uri]) and then: yuminstallyumex (install yumex) yuminstallyum-fastestmirror (install yum-faste
A few days ago, I finally found the Fedora 8 installation disk. After a long time, I finally got well.
At first, I couldn't read the disk. I tested it twice and passed the test, but it was not available during the installation. Later I borrowed an External Optical Drive, so it was easy to get it ready.
Then I searched for and added several rpm images online (Command Format: rpm-ivh [uri]).
Then:
Yum install yumex (install yumex)
Yum install yum-fastestmirror (install yum-fastestmirror)
Yum install bzr (install bzr)
Download the source code of AWN (avant-window-navigator) through bzr, compile and install it.
I like to use yum to install software now. It is very convenient to go To the rpm update source to find the installation file and check the dependencies automatically. I almost don't need to do anything, A simple yum install ??? Command or use the yumex graphical interface to install it.
Oh, by the way, this time I learned a sudo command. The command name should come from su. These two commands are the first contact, and su is more convenient, but not as secure as sudo, sudo must use the mongodoer command under usr/sbin to add users to the sudoer list for use, but the permissions can be controlled in detail.
Fedora 8 can directly recognize my Russian wireless network card, but does not support WEP64 encryption, and on windows this is the default encryption method, there is no way to switch to the WPA-PSK encryption method, but it is not as troublesome as you think. Haha, I can also use wireless network Kara in Linux ). There was no headache in the past, and everything was okay!
But why am I using Fedora?
