Financial series 11 e-cash application, e-cash
From the perspective of the cardholder, small payment is similar to an electronic wallet, and it is also a small payment application that can be used for offline transactions. On the basis of the original debit and loan application, the electronic cash balance, the electronic cash balance ceiling, the electronic cash single transaction quota, the electronic cash reset threshold, and other data elements are added to complete the small amount of electronic cash offline payment transactions. The electronic cash transaction process is similar to that of debit and loan, and a special small payment account is provided in the background to support offline electronic cash consumption transactions. After the card is initialized, the electronic cash account balance in the background is consistent with the electronic cash balance on the card. However, after the offline consumption transaction is completed, only after the transaction and the background electronic cash account are cleared can the background electronic cash account balance be reconsistent with the card electronic cash balance, therefore, there is a data inconsistency time window between the electronic cash balance of the card and the balance of the electronic cash account in the background.
The card issuer can also use the electronic cash reset threshold to automatically recharge cards with insufficient balance through the primary account. Of course, the cardholder can also use cash to recharge cards, the e-cash balance after recharge cannot exceed the upper limit of the e-cash balance. These recharge transactions need to be implemented through the standard debit and loan application process using the issuing bank script.
Currently, bank card transactions use online authorization. However, online authorization may sometimes fail due to the following reasons:
1) the online environment (such as vending machines) is missing );
2) unreliable communication connections (such as in difficult areas );
3) The fees used for Transaction authorization are not economical enough (for example, for small payments)
The electronic cash scheme uses the financial IC card that can be authorized for offline transactions configured by the issuing bank to ensure full control over offline risks and prevent overdraft from the cardholder's account. Using the e-cash solution, banks can:
1) Draw a part of the amount from the current account (debit or credit account;
2) Save the quota information in the payment card;
3) Enable the card to be used offline without any loan risk until the allocated amount is used up or recharged.
The e-cash solution is a payment product component fully compatible with debit/credit applications and features advanced risk management for standard debit/credit applications.
Electronic Cash can provide a new technical solution for offline transactions by debit/credit card. Its flexibility shows that it is more widely applied and can be used in more fields.
Generally, electronic cash transactions are performed offline, and the issuing bank clears these transactions for the electronic cash account. Online transactions (whether using a financial IC card or stripe card) are generally authorized and cleared for the primary account.
