On October 11, May 7, the Ubuntu developer Summit received a good news: 5% of new factory PC computers in the world (starting in the second half of the year) will be pre-installed with the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating system. This is undoubtedly a good sign.
At the Summit, Mr. Chris Kenyon, Ubuntu World sales manager, said:
1) Eight to ten million units shipped last year world-wide.
2) Canonical will be opening their first Beijing office this year
3) Last year Ubuntu shipped on 7.5 billion dollars (presumably USD) worth of hardware.
4) Next year they until CT to more than double these numbers to 18 million units world-wide, or what Chris says wocould be 5% of PCs shipping world-wide wocould be with Ubuntu Linux.
According to 4) in the next 12 months, it is estimated that 18 million PC computers pre-installed with Ubuntu will be available in the global market, and according to 1). So far, ubuntu has produced 800 to 10 million computers.
According to 2), Canonical will officially set up offices in Beijing, the capital of China this year to actively carry out domestic sales business. As a result, I am thinking, in our country, we will not even be able to buy a Ubuntu computer? Because the Chinese computer sales channels are not optimistic about Linux computers, and often sell them in the form of pirated XP, Microsoft's foreign CEO will look for their total accounts for such errors!
Fortunately, the default Ubuntu 12.04 LTS wallpaper contains a background Wallpaper "Beijing Morning" which will be followed by the 18 million Ubuntu computers throughout the world. The dome building of the National Grand theatre is very impressive! This is our pride!
