The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office today unveiled a patent for Apple, a continuous autofocus mechanism for image capture devices, involving the iphone, ipad and Ipodtouch cameras. Apple said in its patent file that the continuous autofocus mechanism allows the lens of an image capture device to be scanned for autofocus and to obtain a focus score associated with an automatic scan. The continuous autofocus scanning mechanism determines an acceptable range of focus fractions.
image capture device (lens) execute af scan 502
will get focus score Span id= "Ouhighlight__31_34to6_6" and autofocus scan related 504
from motion Sensor receive device motion information 506
focus filter Sports equipment information Score < Span id= "Ouhighlight__56_57to12_12" to generate screening focus score 508
based on motion information Are you sureis the device moving or shaking 510
In addition, the continuous autofocus mechanism determines whether the current focus score is within an acceptable focus score range. If the current focus score is not within an acceptable range, then the mechanism will be re-focused scanning.
The inventor of the patent includes Ralphbrunner and Davidhayward.
Apple has been perfecting the camera on iOS devices such as the iphone. The earlier news said that the IPhone6 camera part of the year had been finalized using Sony ExmorIMX220 sensors, as was rumored to be introduced later in the Sony XperiaZ3. Although the same as the 1/2.3 sensor, but the rumor iPhone6 does not have a 20 million-megapixel camera like XperiaZ3, but only 13 million pixels, but still can shoot 1080p short film.
