I. create a boot disk for a U disk
1. plug in the U disk, open the UltraISO software, file -- open, choose to download the CentOS-6.5-i386-bin-DVD1.iso file, click start -- write hard disk image, choose your U disk in the hard drive, the default write mode is: USB-HDD +, then click Format, after formatting is complete, close the dialog box, then click write, then close UltraISO.
2. open the syslinux folder under the root directory of the U disk and replace the original file with vesamenu. c32 in the attachment.
3. delete the Packages folder under the root directory of the U disk (if you do not delete it, you can also, if you have enough space for the U disk ).
4. copy the downloaded system Image CentOS-6.5-i386-bin-DVD1.iso and CentOS-6.5-i386-bin-DVD2.iso to the root directory of the U disk (you do not need to change the name, will automatically identify the installation ).
5. at this point, the boot disk of the U disk has been created.
Note: If you do not replace the vesamenu. c32 file, it will be stuck on the following page after the disk is started: Press Key to begin the installation process.
Cause: syslinux \ syslinux under the root directory of the U disk. the first line in the cfg file references vesamenu. c32 file. in CentOS 6.5, this file has a bug, so it should be replaced with this file in CentOS 6.0.
II. Notes
1. when installing the boot program, pay attention to the place where the boot program is installed. the MBR written to the computer disk is not a USB flash disk. please pay attention to it.
2. after the installation is complete, enter the BIOS to modify the drive sequence.
First BIOS drive: select local disk drive
Second BIOS drive: Select the U Drive
Note: This step is very important. if you install it in the default mode, the system boot guide will be installed in the U disk, which will cause the system to fail to start as long as the U disk is detached, the USB flash drive system can be plugged in again.
