Dell announced that the first batch of Insprion 7.10 desktops and Insprion 530 laptops pre-installed with Ubuntu 1420 systems have been available in the U.S. market; the Insprion 530 will also be quickly converted to England, France, Germany and other places later this week.
Customers who need it can log on to http://www.dell.com/ubuntuto purchase a new Ubuntu 7.10 machine, starting at $499 and $754 respectively.
In addition to system upgrades, Dell also listened to the customer's feedback and added the legitimate DVD playback feature on Insprion 530, allowing users to easily enjoy it simply by placing a DVD movie.
As to why the pre-Installation started two months after Unbuntu 7.10 was released, Dell explained that any operating system must undergo a large number of meticulous tests to ensure compatibility and stability, to minimize the trouble for consumers.
