On the webOS blog recently, CTO Sam Blat of webOS announced that HP intends to open the released webOS3.0.5 open source to form a new "open source community version" brand. This work will be done by opensource.palm.com and is expected to be completed by June. Of course, this project will not conflict with the existing webOS open source program, but will only be added based on the original project.
In his blog, CTO said that the project aims to allow the self-developed community to learn more about webOS and further expand on the basis of the current webOS to provide more support for the entire open-source project.
Blatter also reiterated HP's webOS open-source plan for March, saying that HP will fulfill its promise, but the final version of the standard kernel of linux3.3 has already exceeded, so our original plan will be postponed until the end of March, however, the open-source tasks in March can still be completed within March.
