It is not restricted by the operating system platform and has the cross-platform feature. You can use VNC in linux to view the machines in Windows, or use VNC to view the machines in linux. You can download the VNC installation files from the official website of RealVNC. RealVNC is divided into the free version, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition. Both the Professional Edition and Enterprise Edition are charged, and the free version can be used for free. However, the features are less than those of the Professional Edition and Enterprise Edition, but the general management requirements are still competent.
Install VNC
Tarball installation method:

[Root @ test vnc-4_1_2-x86_linux] #./vncinstall/usr/local/bin

Start vncserver
[Root @ test vnc-4_1_2-x86_linux] # vncserver
Your will require a password to access your desktop.
Passwd: enter the password
Verify: enter the password again to confirm
New 'test: 1' desktop is test: 1
# Test: 1 test is the host name and 1 is the window number for logging on to VNC.
Creating default startup script/root/. vnc/xstartup
Starting applications specified in/root/. vnc/xstartup
Log file is/root/. vnc/test: 1.log
When you run vncserver for the first time, you need to set the access password for the remote connection. The password will be recorded in the/root/. vnc/passwd file. You can change the password by executing vncpasswd in the future.
Now you can connect to the instance through vncviewer.
[Root @ test vnc-4_1_2-x86_linux] # vncviewer 192.168.98.32: 1
A dialog box is displayed, asking you to enter the access password. after entering the password, the connection is successful.
The default desktop X of the VNCServer is twm. When the desktop is connected, only the terminal interface is displayed, but the Remote Desktop interface is not displayed. You can modify the/root/. vnc/xstartup file to GNOME or KDE Desktop:
Restart VNCServer after modification.
[Root @ test vnc-4_1_2-x86_linux] # vncserver? Kill: 1 & vncserver: 1
[Root @ test vnc-4_1_2-x86_linux] # vncviewer 192.168.98.32: 1
After the connection, you can use GNOME or KDE Desktop (like WinXP Remote Desktop). You can also access it through the WEB and enter http: // 192.168.0.252: 5801 in the browser, the default VNC port is 5801.
Use netstat? Tlunp | grep 01: Check whether the VNC port is in the monitoring status. If 5801 is displayed, the VNC port is started properly.
