In general, office applications have two functions: sharing (including files and printers) and operation (including editing of various files ). There are two possibilities: the first is common: directly adding linux to the company group as a client; the second is basically not used as an application, but as a server.

For example:

1: openoffice can be directly used for file operations. If your company advocates using openoffice, it will become much easier. This software is quite good. However, it cannot be well integrated with the msoffice doc documentation (even the same document may be displayed differently ). If your company uses doc documents, we recommend you use wpsoffice or yongzhong Office. These are good and all are available in linux.

2: Shared class. Samba can indeed complete this function in a sense. However, the condition is that netbios is installed on other windows machines and supports unix-like systems, which makes linux users have a headache, it is impossible for someone to install the protocol for you. However, even if someone else does not install it, the effect is "you can see others' computer names ". In this way, you can obtain the name of another computer, and then directly use nmblookup A on the terminal to obtain the IP address. Then, use the File Manager smb: // ip address to quickly view the shared IP address. For the printer, you can see the sharing of the printer in the terminal smbclient-l ip address. Add a printer using your root user management (you need to enter the working group, computer name, and shared printer name), and then add it soon.

Note: The above is the most complex case. The simplest case is that after you install the system, after modifying a working group, you can directly use the graphic interface to add, browse, and operate many things (this is limited by your system's good cooperation with others, just like the above mentioned Protocol installation)

For server: Set it to pdc. Other methods are roughly the same. However, note that if someone else's computer has "as the primary domain name controller", we recommend that you do not use this option, otherwise, the working group will be messy.
