Syntax

prompt(text,defaultText)

Parameters	Description
Text	Optional. Plain text to be displayed in the dialog box (instead of HTML text ).
DefaultText	Optional. Default Input text.

Description

If you click the cancel button in the prompt box, null is returned. If you click OK, the text displayed in the input field is returned.

Before the user clicks the OK or cancel button to close the dialog box, it will block all user input to the browser. When prompt () is called, the execution of JavaScript code is suspended. The next statement is not executed until the user responds.
