RHEL5 feels inadequate after trial

In RHEL5, I don't know whether the release was too hasty and the test was not detailed enough. As a result, some API incompatibility problems were caused.

The solution is to download a 2.6.18-8 or the latest version of kernel from kernel.org and replace redhat kernel.

However, because some of the APIs in the kernel after 2.6.19 are greatly changed, if you download the kernel after 2.6.19 and your application has not been updated for a long time, the API is not compatible.
