Synapse is a recent instant messaging client. Because Synapse adopts the same open protocol as GTalk XMPP, we can use Synapse as a GTalk client. This is also true. Currently, Synapse is in Alpha testing. It provides installation packages for releases such as Ubuntu, openSUSE, Foresight, and Archlinux. If you use another release, you can obtain the source code of Synapse to install it.
