As early as the announcement of Ubuntu11.04 (Code: NattyNarwhal), we learned that from this version, Gnome window manager, which has been with Ubuntu for several years, will be discarded, more lightweight and user-friendly Unity will be replaced. As early as the announcement of Ubuntu 11.04 (Code: Natty Narwhal), we learned that from this version, Gnome window manager, which has been with Ubuntu for several years, will be discarded, more lightweight and user-friendly Unity will be replaced. About Unity, I think most of my friends who are interested in Linux already have some knowledge of IT in Ubuntu 10.10. It was originally designed as an exclusive interface for netbooks, but obviously developers think that it is not only competent, it will lead to the front-end, become the next generation of Ubuntu official window manager.

However, there will be a problem, that is, a large number of components will be incompatible. It is not a simple task for developers to replace Gnome. There are too many details, and many related components such as Bluetooth management and volume management modules need to be redone. Of course, the more important problem is that the logon Manager (guid) is a component designed for Gnome, which is similar to Gnome. Since Gnome has been replaced by Unity, it is expected to be replaced by a new one.

Ubuntu 11.04 Beta

The successor to the running of the machine learning platform for AI is LightDM, which is a lightweight and free logon manager compared with the running of the machine learning platform for AI. It does not rely on any other system components and can be freely used with all Window managers. The new version of Ubuntu uses LightDM not only to work well with Unity, but also to design logon modules for other derivative releases, such as Xubuntu and Kubuntu.

We do not know the specific performance of LightDM yet. The latest Alpha version of Ubuntu 11.04 has not yet been installed. maybe by the time the new version of Ubuntu was released in May next April, we will be able to see the charm of LightDM.
