Webpack-dev-server:

It is a static resource server, only for the development environment;

Webpack-dev-server will save all the compiled static files in memory;

Webpack-dev-middleware:

is a middleware to deal with static resources;

The webpack-dev-server, in fact, is a small Express server, which also uses Webpack-dev-middleware to handle webpack compiled output.

Webpack-hot-middleware:

is a combination of webpack-dev-middleware use of the middleware, it can achieve the browser's non-refresh update (hot reload), which is often said in the Webpack document HMR (Hot Module replacement).
