JavaScript -- add the trim, ltrim, and rtrim methods to the String object in Javascript
Using the prototype attribute of each Object in Javascript, we can add our own method to the built-in objects in Javascript.
And attributes. Here we will use this attribute to add three methods for the String object: Trim, LTrim, RTrim (function and same name letter in VbScript
Same number)
String. prototype. Trim = function ()
{
Return this. replace (/(^ \ s *) | (\ s * $)/g ,"");
}
String. prototype. LTrim = function ()
{
Return this. replace (/(^ \ s *)/g ,"");
}
String. prototype. Rtrim = function ()
{
Return this. replace (/(\ s * $)/g ,"");
}
Let's take a look at the example below:
<Script language = javascript>
String. prototype. Trim = function ()
{
Return this. replace (/(^ \ s *) | (\ s * $)/g ,"");
}
Var s = "leading and trailing spaces ";
Window. alert (s + "(" + s. length + ")");
S = s. Trim ();
Window. alert (s + "(" + s. length + ")");
</Script>
