Method 1: Use the Set password command

Mysql-uroot-pset PASSWORD for ' root ' @ ' localhost ' = PASSWORD (' Newpass ');

Method 2: Use Mysqladmin

Mysqladmin-uroot password "Newpass"

If Root has already set a password, use the following method:

Mysqladmin-uroot-poldpass password "Newpass"

Method 3: Edit user table directly with update

mysql -uroot -pupdate user set password =  password (' newpass ')  WHERE user =  ' root '; Flush privileges; 

lost root Password workaround:

turn off MySQL and start it in the following way:

Mysqld_safe--skip-grant-tables&mysql-uroot-p mysqlupdate user SET Password=password ("Newpass") WHERE user= ' root ' ; FLUSH privileges;
