Use MySQL + Select in PHP

The SELECT statement is used to SELECT data from the database.

Select data from a database table
The SELECT statement is used to SELECT data from the database.

Syntax

SELECT column_name(s)FROM table_name

For more information about SQL, see our SQL tutorial.

To allow PHP to execute the preceding Declaration, we must use the mysql_query () function. This function is a MySQL connection used to send queries or commands.

For example
In the following example, all data is stored in the "person" table (* All data tables in the selection of properties ):

<?php$con = mysql_connect("localhost","peter","abc123");if (!$con)  {  die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());  }
mysql_select_db("my_db", $con);
$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Persons");
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))  {  echo $row['FirstName'] . " " . $row['LastName'];  echo "<br />";  }
mysql_close($con);?>

The $ result variable in the mysql_query () function returned from the data stored in the preceding example.

Next, we will use the record of the first row returned by the mysql_fetch_array () function as an array.

Each call mysql_fetch_array () returns the record in the next row. All records of the loop are recorded at the same time. The value to be printed. In each row, we use the PHP continuous variable $ ($ row ['name'] USD continuous ['surname ']).

The output code above will be:

Peter GriffinGlenn Quagmire

The result is displayed in an HTML table.
The following example selects the same data. The preceding example shows the HTML table of the data:

<?php$con = mysql_connect("localhost","peter","abc123");if (!$con)  {  die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());  }mysql_select_db("my_db", $con);$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Persons");echo "<table border='1'><tr><th>Firstname</th><th>Lastname</th></tr>";
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))  {  echo "<tr>";  echo "<td>" . $row['FirstName'] . "</td>";  echo "<td>" . $row['LastName'] . "</td>";  echo "</tr>";  }echo "</table>";
mysql_close($con);?>
