1. Online update

As Android Studio becomes more sophisticated and popular, it is becoming the top choice for Android developers, both in terms of functionality and performance. But because 墙 of all the well-known reasons, when we update in Android Studio, we will not be able to update:

At this point, either go to the official website to download the latest Android Studio installation package--but if you can't detect the update, you will not be able to access the Android developer website. Tragic ^-^!! But we also have another way to update the "curve Save" method, which is to get the updated offline package and then install it manually.

2, the online update package selection

There are several ways to update packages, one is to download updates from other classmates to the network via search, and the other to find the version information in the list of Android Studio paths that Google publishes. The first is simple, and here's a second way.

2.1. Get the latest version information

Historical version and the latest version information can be found on https://dl.google.com/android/studio/patches/updates.xml, such as I now open the link, access to the following:

As you can see, the latest version is: 141.2202261, we note this version number.

2.2. Get your own version of Android Studio installed

You can open the About menu by Menu-help-about and find the version number of the current installation in the About dialog box that pops up:

We can see that the current installation version number is: 141.2178183, we also note this version number.

2.3, Offline update package download

We stitch the URL of the offline package in the following way:

https://dl.google.com/android/studio/patches/ai-[the current installation version number]-[the target version to update]-patch-win.jar
For example, if we get the offline package by the version number we just had, the URL is:

Https://dl.google.com/android/studio/patches/AI-141.2178183-141.2202261-patch-win.jar
We then download this offline update jar package.

3. Offline Package Installation

First Close all Android studio tasks and put the resulting jar update package in any directory other than the Android Studio installation directory. To start the command line, enter the following command:

Java-classpath ai-141.2178183-141.2202261 com.intellij.updater.Runner Install [Android\install\path]
Note that the final [Android\install\path] is replaced with the installation directory for Android Studio on your machine. Then enter to execute the command. This will bring up a dialog box showing the installation progress:

When the entire installation process is complete, the dialog box closes automatically. The entire update installation process is complete. When we launch Android Studio, we can see that we have updated to the latest version: Click Help->about to view it.

4. Installation Error Handling

If you encounter an installation error, it is generally as follows:

Some conflicts were found in the installation area.

Please select desired solutions from the solution column and press Proceed .....

The general possible causes are as follows:

You also have Android Studio task not closed, check if there is, please close;
You put the offline jar in the installation directory of Android Studio, resulting in file occupancy or some other error.
