Mark Shuttleworth, founder of the Canonical organization with Ubuntu Desktop, recently said that if Microsoft wants to sue a free software developer, a war will be inevitable.

Shuttleworth made the above response to Microsoft's lawsuit against a developer at the o'reilly open source Annual Meeting in July 24.

He also said that if Microsoft sued the developer, he would do his best to assist the developer.

Shuttleworth also said that developers should use GPL V3 to protect themselves from being sued by other vendors for patent rights.
