# # Why are there multiple types of clients? In the early stages of the Ethereum project, several different clients have been implemented on many different operating systems, which is a huge triumph for the entire ethereum ecosystem. It allows us to verify the clarity of the agreement (as specified in the Ethereum [(https://github.com/ethereum/yellowpaper) ), to open the door to new innovations and to keep us honest. However, this is also confusing for many new users, since there is no "Ethereum installer" for them to use directly. As of September 2016, the two most popular clients were: [go client (Go-ethereum)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/go-ethereum/index.html# Go-ethereum) and [rust Client (Parity)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/parity/index.html#parity). | Client | Language | Developers | Latest Release | | --- | --- | --- | --- || [Go Client (Go-ethereum)] (Http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/go-ethereum/index.html#go-ethereum) | Go | [Ethereum Foundation] (https://ethereum.org/foundation) | [go-ethereum-v1.4.18] (https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/releases/tag/v1.4.18) | | [Rust Client (Parity)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/parity/index.html#parity) | Rust | [Ethcore] (https://ethcore.io/) | [parity-v1.4.0] (https://github.com/ethcore/parity/releases/tag/v1.4.0) | | [C + + client (Cpp-ethereum)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clientS/cpp-ethereum/index.html#cpp-ethereum) | C + + | [Ethereum Foundation] (https://ethereum.org/foundation) | [cpp-ethereum-v1.3.0] (https://github.com/bobsummerwill/cpp-ethereum/releases/tag/v1.3.0) | | [Python Client (Pyethapp)] (Http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/pyethapp/index.html#pyethapp) | Python | [Ethereum Foundation] (https://ethereum.org/foundation) | [pyethapp-v1.5.0] (https://github.com/ethereum/pyethapp/releases/tag/v1.5.0) | | [JavaScript Library (Ethereumjs-lib)] (Http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/ethereumjs-lib/index.html#ethereumjs-lib) | Javascript | [Ethereum Foundation] (https://ethereum.org/foundation) | [ethereumjs-lib-v3.0.0] (https://github.com/ethereumjs/ethereumjs-lib/releases/tag/v3.0.0) | | [Java Client (Ethereum (J))] (HTTP://ETHDOC.CN/ETHEREUM-CLIENTS/ETHEREUMJ/INDEX.HTML#ETHEREUM-J) | Java | [<ether.camp>] (http://www.ether.camp/) | [ethereumj-v1.3.1] (https://github.com/ethereum/ethereumj/releases/tag/1.3.1) | | [Ruby Client (Ruby-ethereum)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/ruby-ethereum/Index.html#ruby-ethereum) | Ruby | [Jan Xie] (https://github.com/janx/) | [ruby-ethereum-v0.9.6] (https://rubygems.org/gems/ruby-ethereum/versions/0.9.6) | | [Haskell Tool (ETHEREUMH)] (HTTP://ETHDOC.CN/ETHEREUM-CLIENTS/ETHEREUMH/INDEX.HTML#ETHEREUMH) | Haskell | [Blockapps] (http://www.blockapps.net/) | No Homestead release yet |## what kind of client should I install on my desktop/laptop? Most users will choose to install [mist/ethereum Wallet] (https://github.com/ethereum/mist)  , which is sufficient to meet most requirements. The Ethereum wallet (Ethereum Wallet) originates from the home version (Homestead) and is a key development object of the Metropolitan version (Metropolis), which can be regarded as an application of mistbrowser. Mist will be shipped with a &NBSP;[GO client (Go-ethereum)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/go-ethereum/index.html#go-ethereum) or [c++ client (Cpp-ethereum)] (http://ethdoc.cn/ethereum-clients/cpp-ethereum/index.html#cpp-ethereum) Project compiled binary files, if you do not run the command-line version of the Ethereum client, then mist will call one to synchronize the blockchain data (by default, using Geth). If you want mist to be used with parity clients, or to have mist execute on a private chain, start your parity client before starting mist, then mist will connect to the parity node instead of starting the client node that comes with it. * * Work is in progress to add parity or other clients to mist. * * If you want to interact directly with the Ethereum using the command line tool and interact with the JavaScript console,Then you can directly install a client program, link please refer to the above table. If you want to dig mine, then mist is not competent, you need to refer to this section of the document: the [mining] (http://ethdoc.cn/mining.html#mining) section.## I am on the phone/ What kind of client is installed on the tablet? Our support for mobile mobile devices is in a very early stage, and the Go Project team has launched a development library for iOS and Android beta versions, and some developers can do [Ethereum development] based on this library (http://xc.hubwiz.com/course/ 5A952991ADB3847553D205D1), but there is currently no mobile version of the client that can be used. The biggest obstacle to Ethereum mobile clients is the fact that Ethereum's lightweight support is not yet complete. Support is currently only available on the go client's private chain, and a lightweight client will be developed for C + + over the next few months. # # What kind of client do I install on a single board machine? Depending on your skill level, there are several options to choose from: * Download a ready-made image * If you're new to Ethereum and single board (e.g. Raspberry Pi Raspberry pi [https://www.raspberrypi.org] (https:/ /www.raspberrypi.org/) Then this is the best solution for you. Just download the image file for a device, burn it to the SD card of the device, start your device, and run Ethereum. * Download a pre-compiled application * If your board has installed the system you need and has been set up, then this is the right solution for you. Depending on your system platform, you can download the appropriate execution file from the download page and then set up dependent libraries and environment variables to run Ethereum in the existing environment. * Compile from source using custom scripts (see more details via this link [https://github.com/ethembedded] (https://github.com/ethembedded)) * Looking for a custom installation method? We will provide a script that can be compiled on the source device. The script includes dependencies that are required by the auto-install client. Allows you to install the specified version of the Ethereum client (for example: development, mainline, etc.), you can compile your own branch of the client code. 164 reads
