How does windows automatically map linux servers through samba in a LAN?

In the LAN, windows uses samba to automatically map the linux Server-Linux Enterprise Application-Linux server application information. The following is a detailed description. First, I have two types of LAN: Windows XP Simplified Chinese host and Windows Host traditional Chinese host. samba is used to share the resources of the linux server. The server is UBUNTU 8.04.

After the samba server is set up, the windows host cannot map the folders shared by ubuntu through the network neighbors. You must enter the Server ip address in "run", for example, \ 192.168.1.107 \ temp. At this time, the user name and password are prompted. At this time, Ubuntu is open to the LAN account. You need to enter a reconnection every time you start the system.

Solution

1. windowXP host

(1) The option to add a network password is available. "Control Panel-> User Account-> select a user-> Manage My network password-> Add. Use this account to remap the server folder to automatically reconnect.

(2) The option to add a network password is unavailable.

Choose "start"> "Settings"> "Control Panel"> "Administrative Tools"> "Local Security Policy"> "Local Policy"> "Security Options"> "network access": creden stored for network identity authentication are not allowed. NET Passports is set to "disabled. Restart the system and you will see the "Manage My network password-" add "option.

2. windowHOME host

Because windowHOME has serious functional limitations and does not have the "Local Security Policy" function, you can only change the current user of the system to the user shared by the server, then, use the software such as "Master optimization" to set Automatic Logon upon startup, saving the trouble of entering the account and password when logging on to the system.
