How to install the ATI official driver On Debian-the Linux Release Technology-Debian information is as follows. See this article: http://www.linuxquestions.org/qu... debian-etch-441423/
This article seems to lack a necessary packages. First, become the root user.
Note: not all of them need to be installed. By default, I have installed the system and only need to install two packages.
Apt-get install dh-make libstdc ++ 5
Download the official package, I downloaded it in ati-driver-installer-8-7-x86.x86_64.run
Sh ati-driver-installer-8-7-x86.x86_64.run -- buildpkg Debian/etch
Note: If you are not using this system or version, you can use sh ati-driver-installer-8.24.8-x86.run -- help to view the list supported by this driver
Some deb installation packages will be generated after running. Different system results are different. I only installed two of the most important ones, and others are optional.
In this case, you need to modify the system configuration file/etc/X11/xorg. conf to use the latest driver.
Vim/etc/X11/xorg. conf
The simplest way is to replace "vesa" with "fglrx ". Modify the resolution as needed. I want to change it to the maximum resolution supported by the display: 1680*1050
Just restart the system.
You can log on and use the command line to test the driver you have installed:
Modprobe-v fglrx
Fglrxinfo
Fgl_glxgears
