Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17 can be updated directly using the default library. command:
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install audacity
Software deletion command:
Sudo apt-get remove audacity
For other Ubuntu and derivative versions, run the following command:
Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: audacity-team/daily
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install audacity
Delete the PPA and uninstall the software:
Sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
Sudo ppa-purge ppa: audacity-team/daily
