Install DebianEtch on the USB flash drive (SD card)-Debian technology of the Linux release. For details, refer to the following. I have a MINI SD card and a Transcend card. It was originally installed with UBUNTU7, because this version is actually an image version of liveCD and cannot be customized or modified by myself. The last time Debian4 was installed, I found that the "Diseased" customization function is very strong. I want to test how to install this on a USB flash drive (SD card. My host system environment: P4 2.8G/1G/ASUSP4P800/NVIDIA. This motherboard supports USB Flash boot, and the 1g usb Flash disk is automatically considered as HD (Multi Flash ).

Remove the hard disk power before installation (avoid using the machine hard drive to start GRUB installation), the installation disk is only with the basic system NETINSTALL (debian-40r0-i386-netinst.iso ). After the disc is started, it is installed in the same way as normal. When partitioning is selected, the system will find a USB Flash disk (Multi Flash). The partitioning method uses automatic partitioning by the system. After all, the space is limited, except SWAP, SWAP is installed in one partition. The SWAP space for automatic partitioning is 128 MB, and the rest are Ext3 partitions. Then, start to install the basic system, the installation process is much slower than hard disk installation.

Next, when selecting the source, do not select the network path, and wait for the basic system to manually set the source. Because my network is connected, the source in the system is usually Telecom, if the system selects the source at this time, the installation will be very slow (this is also done when the hard disk is installed ).

Install GRUB, select to install it to the primary partition, restart the system, log on as root, and modify sources. list, add the shlug source (mirrors.shlug.org) that is faster than the Netcom line, and run: apt-get update; apt-get upgrade.

Next, install several frequently used packages.
# Apt-get install rcconf
# Apt-get install lynx
# Apt-get install xorg
# Apt-get install xfce4
# Apt-get install fcitx
# Apt-get install firefox
